Obesity in America
Just read (see my last post) an article about obesity and how MIT has come up with a “solution and reversal” to a widespread problem found mainly in America.
Yeah.. goodluck!
With greed comes consequences. Greed, you say? Yeah greed. Greed for time, greed for good deals, greed for more… More food, more money, more everything.
The “more” brings consequences. To produce more, we have to chemically modify everything that’s natural. ”Natural…” there’s a word we throw around a lot, yet don’t see very often. Do we know where these chemicals come from or what they’re doing, exactly, to our bodies, our minds, or our survival? It’s crazy when you think of all the “low-fat” and “low-calorie” ads promoting horrible, unnatural, food, yet people think that just because it’s advertised as a low-fat or low-calorie food, it must mean it’s ok. When the hell did we learn to trust someone with our food intake, our needs, and our lives? Think about it. We started this country because we wanted to be free, free from oppression, free from being ruled now we’re in shackles with our health, letting big corporations tell us (and not tell us, but giving it to us anyway) what to eat and that it’s good for us. If it’s so good for us, why are we still battling obesity and other health problems, including type 2 diabetes?
So, with all that said.. how is this problem going to be fixed from the outside? We need to start teaching our kids about nutrition and agriculture as well as MIT project… ya know?
